Candidacy Procedures

  1. Submit the following sign-up form, expressing your interest in becoming a Candidate.
  2. Following completion of the sign-up form, please view the Endorsement Form. Have 20 BCom Students endorse you for your position.
    • For Year-Representatives, only candidates in your respective year may nominate you (A first year can only nominate another first year).
    • Signatures on the endorsement sheet of more than 2 candidates running for the same position will be declared void on all endorsements.
      • i.e. A student may nominate maximum 2 candidates running for Ombudsperson and maximum 2 candidates for Second Year Representative.
  3. Upon successful nominations, the Elections Committee will then send you confirmation of your nominations and follow-up declaration form where you will confirm your candidacy and submit a brief write up stating their platform and/or autobiography with a minimum of 150 words and a maximum of 250 AND a headshot where the candidate is clearly visible and appropriate to be displayed to members of the CUS.
  4. Submit the declaration form.
  5. Congratulations, you are officially a candidate!

Note: The Elections Committee recommends getting 20+ nominations, in the event that a nomination becomes voided.
